What Our Happy Travelers Are Saying

Accommodating, Skilled, and Fun!

The crew at the Coral View Dive Center are outstanding. They easily accommodated our group of 30+ college students and faculty for 3 weeks of diving. As a result, we received PADI certifications in Open Water and Advanced Open Water. A huge thanks to our Dive Instructors: Lucia, Georgia, Marc, Erika and Louise. They were patient, highly skilled, and a lot of fun. The team at the Dive Center were extremely responsive and flexible with our group needs. Highly recommend it! – Ben W.

Visit for few days

Staff is attentive. We arrived on ferry and their boat came to pick us up! Not fancy, but comfortable and includes breakfast. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises off pier. Snorkel and kayak rentals available at really good prices.

Relaxed diving

Very relaxed atmosphere, perfect for diving. The manager, speaks English and Spanish. The instructors are friendly and always enthusiastic. Felt very safe in their capable hands. Equipment in good working order. The boats are bigger than most on Utila. Man-made pool for learning in. The house reef is excellent, in a quiet place on the island.

First Scuba Experience

My children and I had a great experience with the Open Water PADI Course. His Instructor Lucia was professional and catered the pace to our group. We had fun and are considering the Advanced Course on our next visit. While we were doing our dives, they invited my wife (Lori) and friend out on the boat to snorkel at no charge! Our small group of 6 had the boat to ourselves, this was a nice bonus. The captain, Mcain was a good source of information for us on all things Utila and diving. We would highly recommend Coral View Dive Center if you are serious about dives.

Confidence restored!

I have snorkeled and dived all over the Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean and Central America. Prior to my trip, I had a harrowing experience in Papua New Guinea. I would pop up, sink down, get more weight, less weight. I was unable to maintain buoyancy so the dive masters dragged me along behind them holding one of my arms. We discovered leaks in two of the BC’s that were rented to me that week. I came to Utila to by “babied” and try to regain my skills and confidence. With encouragement and Caitlin’s (dive master) patience and skill, I was diving again on the first day with confidence! We started in the salt water pool and were able to adjust my weights before the “real dive.” This was tricky with my wetsuit. Next we dove the house reef which had so much healthy coral, sponges, soft and hard. The colors of the hard coral were mostly in the range from white, beige, tan, brown. Two days later I did a boat dive with Rocky (boat captain) and Caitlin. They were knowledgable about the weather conditions and took me to the Pidgeon Cay area, as that side of the island was calmer on this rough day. They were able to locate our two dive sites in the middle of the sea! Caitlin was good at pointing out small things I would have missed. She even carried my camera and took pics of these things (& me!). Because it was my birthday, they made a stop a Pidgeon Cay so I could walk around it and have my birthday lunch. The rental equipment was good quality and they had my size (XS BC). The dive shop location is great…I could walk from my rental house. Their flexibility in going out on the days and times I asked for was much appreciated. At the end of the week when I went to the office to pay my tab (prices were extremely inexpensive) I felt like I was saying goodby to good friends.

They Put the PRO in Professional

Coral View Dive Center is an awesome dive shop run by amazing people. It is a small shop located away from the town center and reasonably priced. They operate with two smaller dive boats, so you aren’t diving with a boat-load (ha) of people. In fact, they prefer to keep the number of divers to a minimum, and can easily arrange private dives. Our group did not stay at the resort, but we were treated no different. Every day when we arrived, our gear was already on the boat and ready to go. It was evident our safety was their number one priority. The staff was very knowledgeable not just about diving, but the coral and fish species as well. If you like, your dive master will review the different species with you using one of their field guides located in the office. There is just so much I could say about this place. Because of the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and their knowledge, it is like no other dive shop and I highly recommend it.

A Piece of Paradise

Having never been diving before, Coral View was a pretty perfect way to do my PADI Open Water. Amazing people, all very helpful and put you at ease which is great because diving can be very daunting at first! Utila has beautiful coral reefs and each day we were taken to a new magical part of it. The bar is the perfect way to chill after an exhausting dive day, and the atmosphere is amazing throughout the whole site, bar, dive shop and hotel. I’ve never experienced diving or other dive shops before, but it didn’t seem to me like Coral View could’ve done much more 🙂 my trip was pretty perfect!

A wonderful dive to the reefs of Utila

This was a wonderful place to hang out, drink beer, enjoy the reef, and to swim. The people here were very nice and extremely helpful with whatever it is you might need from them. Highly recommend this place to other people

A wonderful week of diving!

I loved diving with this shop. The manager was knowledgeable and friendly; the dive master, Caitlin was terrific and the boat and captain were top-notch. I ended up doing my advanced ow while there and it was a good experience with some magical diving. I will return!
